Well if whatever is in the Frankie now resembles the Duncan CC, I'm out. Never cared for that pickup.

Just switch out the A2 magnet for a ceramic and you have a Custom.

That's right. I forgot about that. An the AlNiCo V for a custom 5. Never tried one of those but would imagine it being pretty decent.

I never had luck with the dimarzio super distortion but I only try with a 500k pot.. What pot you guys use??i bet the custom 5 would be great

Yeah, Super Distortion had to be backed farther from the strings and I used a 300K pot which actually measured like 237K or something. It was a little tricky but it's a great early VH pickup for sure.

I'll have to try different pot ! Wonder what pot pete thorn used on his sl68 clip

I have found that the MM1300 and DSD are very dependent on distance to the strings.

And in my case, I was able to get the Duncan Custom right up under the strings. :what: Magnet size difference?
