Atomic Punk,, yours looks exactly like the spec should look. I might add that it also SOUNDS like it should.
Get some shielded cable from Valvestorm (He is quick and charges fair rates) and get your indicator light back

I went to the music store cause I needed some tubes and I saw some KT-77s. I had never heard of them but the guy said they are a direct replacement to EL-34s so I got them. I haven't tried the amp with 34s but I think I have a pair of electro harmonix I could throw in there to see if there's a difference.
Do you think the tubes would make much of a difference with the volume down so low?
Stick with what you've got; I freakin love these tubes!. I wish I had tried them years ago...I could have saved some money.

I think this is where you're getting some of that tight, percussive low-end chunk. I'll never pay for Vintage Sylvania 6ca7's ever again. I'm sticking with KT-77's and tweaking the amp if I have to; these things are great!

Those unidentified trannies look like Mag Comp made them based on the printing and part numbering.

Hey there mod5 rockers.......I did the mod 5 to my amp build..........my cabinet has two anniversary 30 watt celestions which are supposed to be reminiscent of greenbacks and are supposed to have earlier breakup.....the other two speakers are vintage 30's which are 60 watters.....I have them wired in a criss cross pattern at 8 ohms....my amp build is the 100 watter.....I used all sozo vintage style caps and the c1999 choke with 1203-80? tranny and the output tranny is the c1998.......my specs are like the mod 5 schematic .....but I went with the .68u bypass on v2a.instead of 25u........my question is does the .0022 xicon cap on v1b really make that much difference along with the Mallory 150s for v1a and on the 2 pi caps......do those name brands get you closer when doing the mod? The way my speakers are ( I've heard that when running lower wattage speakers with higher wattage ones, the load is treated as if all speakers are of the lower wattage ones)...... What would you recommend altering in the mod to go wit my speaker setup?.........oh.....I'm getting 500 volts on the plates on the high side and 410 on the low side of my tranny........what tubes work the best.....thanks

I would definately try the little crimson xicon .0022 for the plate. Its polypropylene and really gives more bite/clarity there, though it isnt night and day difference, it is noticable. Also, the cathode bypass caps render similar results, with polypropylene caps giving more clarity and bite. Cathode caps can be of low voltage (25v is suffice). Valvestorm sells those Panasonic .68uf caps. They look very similar to the xicon .0022 that he sells. I recommend these.
Tubes are more and more becoming a crap shoot. I reccomend contacting Lord Valve.
