Anybody hip to the Warehouse ET65?

Post by Shakkal » Sat Oct 09, 2010 1:20 pm

Curious about them ... I need to fill a closed back 2x12 with two greenbackish speakers of the same type that would handle a JMP 50W. All I've seen elsewhere is people mixing them with something else and I haven't found much info on this forum. I don't want to mix speakers so any real life info from people using a pair of them would be helpful.

I know that there are the Scumbacks (I use them) ... just assume that they don't exist for the purpose of this thread  what I need at this time is a tone reference of a pair of ET-65s in a closed back 2x12".

Thanks!

I have two Celestion Heritage G12-65s in a semi open back 2x12, they sound really good, but quite dark.
I used a WGS ET65 in a PRS 30 combo and auditioned my 50W plexi thru it, its in the same ballpark as the new celestions but the mids and highs tend to be richer. The bass isn't as bold as the heritages, but very good anyway.
I used an old Marshall 2x12 cab that looks like a 1960A cab with only two speaker holes, it has two old G12-65's, they have quite a bit more mid highs than the Heritage Celestion and the WGS, I wonder why.
