There are no Pulsonic recone kits for Celestions anymore. I haven't seen one in years.

thanks jim, i was hoping you'd know :)

the speaker dude said they were reconed by a guy on another well known forum. i didnt dig very deep but i guess it's a 'new' kit. - ?? also, does celestion make recone kits for current production?

Sure, but the recone kits from Celestion sound like current speakers. As for the other custom recone kit, maybe it's ASW doing one of their "retone" kits.

the celestion recone kits are a 'drop-in' kit with everything already assembled. you just have to apply glue to the edge of the spider and the edge of the cone and stick it onto the speaker chassis. making sure everything is lined up properly of course.

i bought a celestion t1221/r kit recently and it was the same cone as on the current 'classic g12m' with a white 53H1777 stamp on it.

I got mine from here

you wont find recone kits specifically for blackbacks. they are all modern cones they use on their current speakers. so you just need to know if its a 75Hz lead cone or 55Hz bass cone, G12M or G12H and if its 8 or 16 ohm.

a lot of speakers use the same cone but just have a different magnet. like the anniversary G12H and classic G12M, both are lead cone speakers with the same voice coil, the only difference is the magnet. so for an anniversary G12H you need the T1221 recone kit.

i found some blackback kits from legacy sound service. i dont know what cones they use, although they said they have the 1777 cones, so hopefully those come with the kits. anyway these recones have to be better than the current WF cones that are on them from the previous owner.
