Celestion101 wrote:Hey Guys.....the Creamback's ARE indeed UK Built. In brief, the Creamback is like a Heritage G12M, however with a big punchy lowend. It is not as dark as the Heritage 65, but it has a puchier bass to it.....you will be challenged to make it flub out on the lowend. We also put 8 holes in the chassis for the vintage Fender guys (I've been pushing for this forever). And last but not least, they map for $159, just $10 more than a V30, and a good bit less than the Heritage models. We used them in a openback 212 at the amp show and folks were surprised to hear that the cabs were openback. That said, we did not mask the mids or top-end, so they still have that 'woodyness' (sp?) to them that people like about GB's. Next will be the highpower H and then we have a few other cool things happening in the near future. Have fun!
Hi GURU, well, my brain's a bit fried to be honest! Noticing the huge contribution that speakers make to your overall tone has been like taking the wrong pill in The Matrix! At present, I have a pair of G12C, G12-65H, G12M-65 and have just bought some V30's as I'm still not getting the tone in my head! With only two cabs, I can only A/B two different speakers at once.GURU1979 wrote:Hi OdgeUK!

Let we know!
Bye all!
Thanks for the tips! Funnily enough, the V30's I've just got are exactly that! They are the Marshall Vintage. Looking forward to trying them outGURU1979 wrote: For your needs, i suggest you to try the Marshall Vintage, a special Vintage 30 voiced on marshall request.
It's an in between Vintage 30 and greenback, (something like a laid back V30) i use 2 of them in bottom of my 4x12 (top 2 greenbacks) to add bass and a better spread of sound.
I wonder if these high power H's will be low or high sensitivity?Celestion101 wrote:...Next will be the highpower H and then we have a few other cool things happening in the near future. Have fun!
G12Cs were Greenback style speakers designed for the Marshall Vintage modern cab and also the Jimi Hendrix Limited 100 Stack. They were, apparently, voiced after a particularly 'woody' sounding 60's G12M reference speaker that the designer wanted to replicate and which wasn't available in the existing Celestion range of G12M speakers. It's a Marshall only speaker, so has to be ordered as a 'replacement part' direct from them or a dealer, they usually require a speaker cabinet serial number before they can place the order. Pretty impressed with mine, they just need more low-end and are pretty horrible under High Gain. IMO of course.jof006 wrote:Hi guys, forgive my ignorance but what's a G12C? I thought greenbacks were G12M.
@OdgeUk - are you selling your G12M-65 CBs or did you return them?
@Celestion101 - I've got a Marshall 6101LM with the G12Gold-200W speaker in its 1x12 combo.
At modest volumes, would the G12M-65 CB give me more of an early Van Halen tone or would there be not much difference until they're pushed to breakup? I don't play loud - home use only.
(Greenbacks seem to be the speakers to get for a VH tone but I haven't got space for a 4 x 12.)
