Re: JCM900 Cabinet Restoration and Upgrade
Any chance anyone has the baffle bracing for the inside of the cab? That's what I was looking for, the vertical member that is missing in modern cabs. The center post seems to be a 2x4.

I expect to be making one of those braces very soon. if you still need the dimensions, I can get them off my 66ish top handle cab.

Re: JCM900 Cabinet Restoration and Upgrade
Happened even sooner than I thought, so here goes...
Start by cutting a piece exactly 26 3/8" long by 3" wide.
13 1/8" from one end mark one edge, and draw a line to the opposite corner on the opposite end that you measured your 13 1/8 from. That should give you the right (correct)angle. Your board will end up being 3" wide on the first 13 1/8" on one end and then taper from there to 0 on the other end.
My old cabinet has what they call 1" (actually less than that) pine for that brace, and also for the 2 cross braces whereas the JCM800 I have has a single cross brace made of BB, so you'll have to notch around your cross brace.
My vertical brace mounts in the centre of the baffle, 1" from the bottom, and 1/2" from the top. if you want to get REALLY "correct" they drew lines 13 3/4 from each side of the baffle, and then did a pretty poor job of gluing and screwing the brace between the lines.
My 2X4 measures 1 3/4 by 3 3/4 and is notched around the bracing. you should be able to figure that out from various pictures.
It sounds complicated, but you should hopefully be able to make a brace from those instructions.
If (when) it doesn't make sense, let me know and I’ll try to clarify.
