Yup definitely 10's, and not a 1960 cab...
So I like purple, okay!!!!!!

83.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot!

That's an unusual cab?
As far as I know marshall didn't do the 4x12 square shaped cab for 10's until the mid 80's but there is a record of a cab model 2038 with a build date of one year  (1972), could be slightly smaller though? ...BUT yours has metal handles (finished late 71) basketweave cloth (finished mid '71) and the celestions speakers are dated Jan '70? so I'm thinking this could be either a special order or an altered 12" with a newer baffle added (need closer pics), the horizontal baffle strip is out of line which is a bit odd for production.
Your speakers are not the more common one's and I've never found any history on them but should have pulsonic cones ending in 002 plus I think they could be 10 watters so take care with the volume!

It's definitely a 2038 cab like this one:

Are these speakers any worth?

Ragnar, your pic links aren't working for me, but if it's like the 2038 on the bottom, the speakers appear to be 9834 10" Greenback speakers. If they're original they use the Pulsonic 102 002 10" cone, and they are good for 10-12w MAX, so that cab should be rated at 50w Maximum, meaning you'd need two of these to crank a 50w Plexi into safely.

Ragnar, if you need to make up another cab to run with your amp as Jim says, I've got five 10" spks that I have no use for and taking up space!...
9384 matched pair DC8X (April '70, hence my dating mistake above  ) pulsonic cone 461124002
7442 matched three KK21 (Oct.77) 8401 cone codes.

:D

I have a '72 2038 cab with original 9384 speakers also. It's a beater though - replaced grill and some other issues. I've cranked my 50 Watters thru it plenty of times and have not had any problems. Marshall rated these cabs at 60W. These are great cabs for when you need to tame your volume. The 10's are somewhat inefficient when compared to G12's. They seem to get to a certain volume level and then level off, no matter how much higher you push your volume knob. I've even played my Laney 60W amp thru it a few times, and that is a powerful amp (though I wouldn't recommend it on a regular basis).

I assume that was an '80s model 1966A, probably with 75W speakers? If so, you got a KILLER deal, you nearly stole that cab. I'd put a value of at least $800 on that 2038 cab.
