Need Help Finding a Vintage Marshall Cab Part! :)

Post by Ian1eh » Wed Nov 02, 2011 8:34 pm

Hi Guys!

I'm looking for a specific part that Marshall used for their cabinets.....some boutique cab builders use this part as well.

The part is the single round plate that surrounds the input jack on a vintage Marshall 4x12. I have seen this part in black plastic in a few places, but I need to find one in a "creme" color if at all possible......

Any ideas?

I need this part for a vintage 1974 Framus Jan Akkerman guitar that I am finishing......the guitar came from the Framus factory in 1975 when they closed. The guitar was ready for final sanding . finishing when Framus closed in 1975. These guitar used the exact same part on their input jacks as the vintage Marshall cabs used.

I'm not sure if I will ever be able to find a creme-colored plastic part, but I thought you guys would know! :)

Cheers
Ian

Thanks for replying Jim!

Interesting thing is that the original Fram Akkerman guitars used this part, and they were "white".....that was the 70's though.

Do you think I could have this done custom somehow?......not sure whon your supplier is....

Thanks for the help!

Cheers!

I don't have a supplier for these. I found a guy on eBay that had a bunch and I bought 20 or so when I do cabinet restorations. Typically those jack plates get hosed so I replace them. But they're not being made anymore from what I understand, so that's why I bought 20 of them cuz I knew I'd be buying old cabs in the future that would need them....cuz I'm a frigging cab whore. :palm:
