Weber continues to shake things up...

Sounds like they fired their cabinet maker. Hopefully, they'll find another before I want to order my 5E7 kit.

For the money the Weber kit was hard to beat. I know they have the reputation of being on the cheap side, but for the most part I think it would be good amp and I could upgrade as I go.

Has to be Mojo, just like their kits. I ordered a small box from Mojo nearly a month ago, and just today got the shipping/tracking info.

IIRC, Mission designed all of Weber's tweed kits. I seem to remember posts where he discussed the emphasis of keeping it at Ted's (RIP) price point, with Ted's existing suppliers and components. Accurate? Sort of, with shortcuts. Correct? Different story. That's not how he does his amps. I believe if you're looking for correct, Mission might be a good place to start.

Love that 5e7! It's on my list. I believe it came with an under rated OT, and I'm thinking that's part of the magic. J. Mascis(Vintage Marshall player) called that amp "God's gift to distortion." My limited experience found me really surprised, too.

Good Luck with that cab! I never had a problem with Weber's cabs. Seems as though I wound up replacing lots of other stuff, though. If you need speakers, a cab, and a chassis, I look at the other stuff as throw-ins that I'll mostly replace.

Another thought.... Did Weber and Mojo go to stainless over chrome chassis?

You can always get Mojo or mather to make you a cab I'm sure.

I'd rather source than use the weber stuff at this point.

Love to have a 5E7 myself
