Did I do any good for $180??

Post by Mxzx » Sat Apr 30, 2011 10:11 am

Picked this up last night. Appears one speaker may have been reconed, as it has a date of x/xx/96 penciled on the cone, and 2 of the 4 screws are missing. The other speaker has a cork gasket, and is stuck on the cabinet tight. All 4 screws were still there and tight. I figured I would just leave it alone, instead of ruining it trying to get it out. I can't find any markings on the cone on that one, but it is hard to see in there.

I just noticed the piece of angled wood on the upper left corner, is that where "100" would have been mounted? The plastic handles have "Marshall" on them at the top.

Thanks

Thanks. I have been playing through it with a Plexi clone 50 watter, being careful not to turn it up too much. Sounds a little different than my GT75 cabs. I'm guessing the open holes my change the sound some?

I think I will try to restore it some, obviously need 2 more blackbacks first.

Where is a good place to source tolex, grill cloth, etc?

Thanks

Yes. the open holes will definitely change the sound.

I'm planning to get tolex etc from AES. They're at

I would like to ask a favor;

Can you tell me the width on your cab of the two long grooves on top where the gold piping goes in?

In millimeters (mm) if possible since it's European, but standard U.S. dimensions would also be o.k. though less accurate.

I'm trying to include these on a cabinet I'm building, but don't know how much extra to include for the thickness of the black levant tolex. Thanks in advance- co

Excellent find! by the way.

It's from this thread

If the link doesn't work any more, let me know what you need to know. I have a copy here, I can look it up, or send the drawing to you.
