If you play at Home, it really does not matter. Louder? Well stay away from Sovteks, EH, Cheap "made-in-china" . Mesa, TAD, RUBY - they aren't making tubes, they are just buying them (they use Sovteks and other cheap tubes), test them and re-brands them... Other tubes, you have to listen to them to make a decision. I actually playing with EH EL-34 (JCM800 build) and when I A/B-ed with JCM800 Ri (100W) I liked Mine AMP, and every others who have been there too. So parts of your amp are playing a big role in this.
If I were I would buy some thing like Thung-Sol or JJ and wouldn't worry about it.

Don't forget - current production tubes are not like old tubes, so if your amp runs the EL-34 on high voltage (700V) so you kind of in trouble
