Re: Pedalboard cables
I have an ES8 as well. Hope you like it as much as I do.
I use GeorgeLs, but they are not perfect. When assembled you need to measure resistance from tip to tip, ring to ring, and tip to ring (for a short). It's not good enough to simply test connectivity. Sometimes I'd get 20 ohms resistance tip to tip on a short patch cable even if I recut and reassemble it. Eventually I realized that if I switched a connector for a new one that would stop. I've started cleaning the inside of connectors with alcohol and an acid brush prior to assembly, and my luck has improved. They're great for the ease of assembly of patch cables when they work right. My pedal board changes often enough to make that a premium.
This last experience was frustrating though. If I hadn't invested so much in GeorgeLs cable and connectors already I would have bought Mogami cable and solder connectors. I'd me much more confident in the quality of connection.
Then I'd buy a new fuzz and curse about having to fire up my soldering iron.
