Hi !
i'm wondering if mark is using any distortion pedal at all, or if it's the amp and the guitar only.
i've never investigate really about it but i'd find it a lot interesting.
for example , here :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cj1mo_j ... ilpage#t=2
he's got some clean tone, and the response of the strings is fabulous, giving great break up tones if hit harder.
you know, not a fuzzy tone, but more of a large Spectrum organic saturation, love it.
or here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... xySFw#t=71
do some of you looked into it ?
thanks

He always sounds amazing, great touch. Pretty sure no overdrive/dist pedals, just amp with a compressor on the clean stuff.

thanks man, yes, you may totaly be right, just a cool warm setting on the amp, and a great guitar well played.
i didn't imagined he played a jtm45 for money for nothing, i thought it was another amp , mesa boogie or something, but not sure, coming from a read where it's explained how he got this tone by accident due to a mic on the floor, recording the amp a certain way, and they never could reproduce it.
surprising how very little effect he uses ! and it's true : to get various great tones with very little is a fantastic school.
just a tone that can breath.
about this money for nothing sound, here is a great pedal, frenchys doing fun stuffs

That sounds cool for that sound but I wouldn't want it all the time, I think I would just use a cocked wah if the notion took me.Xplorer wrote: about this money for nothing sound, here is a great pedal, frenchys doing fun stuffsthe "money for nothing and more" pedal, by jmb experience

yeah me too, but this "fuzz" does plenty of other tones + this one if needed. it's called the "money for nothing AND MORE"
this said, i'd be fine with his simple nice Crunch tone, and straight in a great amp it's actualy easy to get there
