Tascam DP01 recorders

Post by 62sg » Sun May 28, 2006 11:37 am

Was wondering if anyone here has experience with the
Tascam DP01 series recorders. ...{ dp01, dp01fx, and dp01fxcd...]
If so, are they user friendly, and do they produce clean results?? Any info appreciated.
Thanks.....

I have a dpo1fx. It has good features except that you can only record 2 inputs at the same time. Ive recorded my band with it and it was fine but just for demo type recordings. I recorded the drums mostly on the first take with everybody playing but the mics mainly recording the drums. From there I overdubbed the guitars and bass and vocals, this allowed me to get a good drum take and from there I could build on it and still be able to master each track seperately but it's a bit of a pain in the ass for that reason. Id rather have one that recorded 8 tracks simultaneously. But for the money it's not bad. How clean does it record? Well, there is some buzz and hiss but it depends on how open you have the input levels. If you know alot about recording maybe you would be able to solve that.

Growl...
thanks much. I'm gonna check this , and a few others, out today...like the Boss Br1200cd.
Whatever is easier to use, with clean results is what I' m going with.
