Friedman BE100 Master Volume

Post by Mats A » Sat Dec 05, 2015 4:07 am

Since the MV affects the signal level in the effects loop in the Friedman Be100 it can´tbe a PPIMV. But how can it as he says be so much better? How does it work compared to a normal MV?

It is before the loop and phase invertor. There is an extra resistor in the circuit that helps to maintain frequency balance over the sweep of the pot.
Dave advises to use the MV on front of the amp as a loop send control and the FX return control serves as the typical master volume.

I changed my Metro 2203 to BE-100 specs and have double PPIMV, switchable by relay and it works flawlessly. Used PEC pots and type 2 PPIMV, works great at bedroom level. I do not care for using the return volume as overall master, I keep it cranked and use PPIMV instead.

I´ve had a 1959 SLP with a PPIMV and i don´t like how they sound. something with the low end of the tone. How did you get the BE100 secs?
