Has anyone ever tried putting one of these in a fender? I'm wondering if it would work as well as in a marshall.

Only through '60.....blondes and blackfaces don't have much in common with their 5F6-A roots........still an interesting and different overdrive sound with the 60's Bassmans though.Tatosh wrote:I don't see why it shouldn't work. a Bassman is pretty close to a NMV Marshall, anyway...

No.....I just use the MASS if my Fenders are too loud nowadays. And when I was gigging the singer and I shared the soundguy duties 50/50, so no one was bitching if we weren't.daniel wrote:Flames1950 wrote:Only through '60.....blondes and blackfaces don't have much in common with their 5F6-A roots........still an interesting and different overdrive sound with the 60's Bassmans though.Tatosh wrote:I don't see why it shouldn't work. a Bassman is pretty close to a NMV Marshall, anyway...
Have you ever had a chance to try it? Most of the time I'm fine volume wise but every once and a while I'll play a small club gig and the sound guy will bitch about how loud I am and I'll have to rely completely on my fulltone for overdrive. I've thought about doing this to help with those situations but I'm afraid it will change the character of the amp.
The 5F1 Tweed Champs are single ended amps (SE), they don't have a phase inverter (PI) - so there post PI (PPI) nothing is possiblerockstah wrote:could you put one in a 5f1 circuit? (1959 tweed champ)
