Almost sounds like page has the smallest millesecond of a delay in there with little feedback. Sort of what an amp sounds like in small ambient setting.

Well, I know he used to use the phase 90 live in the late 70s. Also used the and old eventide H949. I believe Lifeson was big on the electric mistress flanger around the "Farewell to Kings" era (think Freewill)...his big thing in the early 70s was the Maestro PS-1A Phase Shifter which is one of my favorite phase shifters...think all the phasey 2112 stuff and john paul jone's wavering rhodes on "no quarter" live.

And...dan's correct on the Goldtop > board > amp. From an interview:

GS: Do you ever cut guitar parts direct into the board?

DG: Not very often, but it has happened once in a while. The solo in "Another Brick in the Wall, Part II" was done straight into the board. After it was recorded, the signal was then put through an amplifier to add that kind of amp tone.
