Every time we buy this kind of stuff, we are cheating ourselves, our values, our morals, our communities, our cities and our country. None of these cheap labour or manufacturing processes are sustainable and we as consumers, we have to act responsibly. Its just another POS product than a lot of people will gobble up. "Ohhh... its so cheap and sounds better than any Marshall Plexi". Yeah, right.

Just like I refuse to shop at Walmart, I refuse to buy Behringer gear that has been simply copying designs by Mackie and have them made in China in sweatshops... Argghghg! Why don't people see this ?

My PA system is QSC amps, DBX EQ, Alesis Mixer, Peavey Speakers and Yamaha Club series speakers. All made in the USA with the exception of DBX and Alesis, but they're still orginal American design with quality, innovation and durability in mind. When a slider broker off on my DBX, I got a replacement in 48hrs. You think I'd get the same service from Behringer? Nope.

Will I pay more to support companies that have worked hard to come up with innovative products and have the desire to produce quality products and have customer service in mind? Yes. My DBX eq was twice the price of the Behringer. Some people think that's just plain stupid and they'd buy the Behringer. I say F**K Behringer. I hope they go down... but they won't, because people want to save a buck. Will I pay less to buy crap? No.

In the end, its not always about saving a few bucks.

I could go on and on...

But we should be more mad about the trade agreements that make it this way and that is our own fault not theirs. This stuff people forget....and I dont see it on the news....but ...to me......this is very imporntent for the US to be a strong country...we dont make much here anymore...and needs to be put in people faces.....but most people will always buy cheep if they can.

on an other note......why does the message body box jump around when trying to reply to a thred.
i couldnt agree more....we dont manufacture anything and if you look at the goverment labor statistics on manufacturing is scary!!through 2016 its a steep slope down..
Well, Im new but gonna chime in on this one...the reason they dont see 'IT' is because 'IT' doesn't matter at all to folks that can't afford / dont want or whatever reason can't get there hands on the upper class amps...and most of the time the folks that CAN afford the good stuff suck on guitar anyways...lol...
I know from experience as I play out almost every weekend and find it easy to CRUSH the my other guitarist sound with an UN-MODDED B-52 at100...He plays a Marshall full stack Vintage Modern...his amp cuts great for rhythm guitar and I love its sound but it CANT get the Steve Vai SUSTAIN and long lasting divebomb/harmonics Im getting...on the B52...

Now, the point is Im using two cheaper amps ...the BUGERA 1990 for Rhythm (for cutting thru the mix like a Marshall) and Thanks to Bugera it works great...
And for the price its nice to know I can find them cheap anytime and not invest a small fortune to sound great...
Besides all that...when the INFINIUM Bugera's come out...with stock RR1 mods, and stock PPIMV built in Marshalls may become fairly extinct...to working musicians anyways ...not the home player's/modders....just my opinion...and an affordable one...at that...

p.s. I dont know what happens at on the video from BUGERA'S assembly line video before the area they showed on YOUTUBE but it looks very nice and clean there while they are checking the amps on the line...go check it out for fun...

I'd rather invest the money in kit parts, and do the slave labor (NO pay per hour- but FUN) myself, and have an amp that not only sounds good, but if a part blows in the future, I can fix it myself. Metro, Mercury, Heyboer, Ceria, Mojo, Mullard all the good stuff...

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but i just have to know something, because i got the same vibe when i read a thread on the Jet City amps.
For the record own neither a Bugera or JCA.
Is it the fact that these amps were made in China that has people turning their nose up at them or what?
Yes, ive read the early QC issues on the Bugeras (now they're as good QC wise as any brand out there), but ive hardly seen any on the JCA's. Is it all "American Pride" chest thumping that's going on here?

Let's say Behgringer/Bugera or JCA brought a plant to middle america, said "asembly line workers make minimum wage" would that be acceptable? Do you think the QC would suck or just because american hands made it it will be slightly better made?

It's not so much "American pride" as it is "self-built" pride. Alot of my parts like NOS Mustard capacitors were sourced out from Greece and Turkey...

That's why Jedi's like Luke construct their own lightsabers. They know what's in it, it's tailored to their needs, and they know how to fix it if it ever goes bad (but it probably won't because it was constructed as a labor of love)... Same for your 12,000 series Plexi clones- Peace of Mind is priceless...

If you desire endless sustain, you can get by inserting an ADA MP1 preamp, JMP-1, Crate TDP or other high-gain preamp into the the low input and it crushes! I've done this many times. Unplug it and you're right back with a '68 plexi sound...

yeah but that wasnt the sticking point concerning these particular brands.

If Metropoulus, for whatever reason, one day decided, "ok im mass producing my amps, but they're being built in china; same components, just built there, sticker priced 2/3 (or more) of what they're priced now" would people still be like "no way, made in china"?

Situation Ethics? To each his own. I'd rather make my own and know what I'm getting.

I have to admit though, I own more than several "Classic Vibe" Squier Strats and Teles. The tremolos suck and have to be replaced, as well as the 5-way switch, but the price, pickups, vintage styling, flat fingerboard and large frets really make them appealling to me- especially when I put vintage-correct logos on them with Stewart McDonald vintage amber lacquer on the headstocks. Would I rather have a Fender Hot Rod Vintage Series? Yes. Do I have the money? Nope.

As for the logos, Dave Gilmour put Fender decals on his Charvel brand "Strat" replacement necks, and Pete Townshend put Hiwatt logos on his Sound City amp heads, so what the hey? I'm playin' them, not trying to pass them off for sale... :peace:

I would never buy a bugera, i have been hearing Raves about the magician which is a clone of the MKIV by mesa but i have too many reservations about the QC of these amps.

A buddy of mine had a Marshall Haze 40.
Changed the tubes, apparently one of the tubes had an internal short.
It took out several components, some diodes, a capacitor, but the real problem is it fried some of the PCB traces.
These amps are cheaply made overseas. Cheap construction, basically disposable amps.
I'm curious to see the insides of a Bugera. I'm betting that it's no worse, might even be better than some current "name brand" offerings.

I would take a bugera over any marshall produced amp now sorry to say marshall are the new behringer LMAO.

Seriously though ok their business ethics ain't that great but as a poor musician who can't afford high end "plexis" it's a great concept thing is most amp manufacturers are all as bad as each other here's why in my oppinion:

1) PCB mounted valve bases what a load of garbage mechanics on the board can weaken the bases and damage traces and you have the heat of the valves inside.
2) All transformers made in these up and coming super powers are of sub par quality (what they do is cut up old transformers to roughly the spec they need and don't do it properly or with enough iron content and they just melt)
3) Badly designed Printed Circuit Boards that you can't just replace a component on if it decides to die or burst its guts you just disconnect that board and send it back for reconditioning and drop in a replacement board.
4) Lead free solder What a load of crap so many joints are dull and weak cause of it and sometimes a couple of degrees of inconsistency in the wave solder machine can make a huge difference.

I can't rant about gear for days and how it should and shouldn't be made but sometimes musicians just have to use what they can afford. To be honest as well I would even have a bugera in my hire stock for people to use.

Hi,

I agree completely with Mark Cameron.
We have exactly the same problems here in Europe (not to mention this fucking Euro- crisis!)

Hello all,
Dustin Plumb here, U.S. product manager for BUGERA.

I wanted to quickly address any quality concerns that might still be lingering.

We had an unfortunate design flaw on our initial run of model 333 as you're probably well aware. We promptly made the necessary adjustments and successive runs were free of the problem. We designed our second generation units (those including INFINIUM technology) to be even more reliable and we're seeing definitive increases in reliability and longevity across the board. I have worked for several technology manufacturers including a handful of guitar amp manufacturers and I can tell you firsthand, that BUGERA amps are right in line when it comes to failure rates.

As back up to this claim, we have recently increased our warranty to 3 years on BUGERA amps!

If you haven't tried a BUGERA in some time, I implore you check one out at your local retailer.

The V5 and V22 are now back at Guitar Center starting this holiday season and according to our European distributor, we're the best-selling guitar amp brand in Europe.

The BVV3000 is the best bang for the buck all-tube bass amp on the market ($899 USD street) and is currently in production.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
