Fender Power Tube heater wires????

Post by tonejones » Tue Apr 18, 2006 12:16 am

Hey all,
I was talking with my bud today (guy that's doing my '69 clone) telling him that I thought the heater wires on the power tubes needed to be twisted...

And while agreeable to it, he mentioned the reason he didn't initially is that Fender amps don't twist their power tube heater wires.......

What's up here????

Never have heard many noisy Fenders......is this all due to difference in design????

Is this possibly just newer Fenders????
Let's get going, 'cause there's too much music, too little time!!!!

All my Fenders have twisted heaters to the powertubes. This is my ´69 Bandmaster Reverb that I´m restoring and DeBS-ing:

The powerresistors and caps on the output tubes are gone now...

Interesting,

Again the only thing I can think of is maybe it's a newer amp thing.......
