Strats through Marshalls sound great !

Eric Johnson in action on the guitar that inspired his signature Strat.

Too many Les Pauls around here ! We need more Strat clips.

Go Here: (Same site as BB´s beautiful layouts)

It´s a 21 Mb download, and you´ll need QuickTime to play it . It´s well worth it ! It´s Eric Johnson playing "Righteous" live in ´88 on ACL. Holy Crap ! What a sound from a Strat ! (And a Dumble, and a couple of Twins...)

I´m not sureI enjoy the music as much as the skill and many hours of practice that went into it.

Hey Mac he's using both coils in the stacked HS-2 in the bridge in that guitar. Thats the guitar with the HS-2 and when he does use a different pickup you can hear the gain and the mids drop.

He does´nt use the second coil in the HS-2´s AFAIK. And he only uses the front and the back PU´s in these clips. I´ve seen that guitar, and EJ, and all 3 PU´s looked the same. Same sound as in the clips. He changes amps more tha PU´s. AFAIK there are 2 Twins, a Dumble, a Marshall 1959T, and a 1959 in his backline on this show. The changes in one are due to amps and pedals.
And picking...

BTW: When are you going to post some Strat clips with your ´67?

Soon. The LP clips were impromtu. I didnt mean to make them. It was on the spur of the moment.

Are you sure about that? Thats the same guitar from Fine Art of Guitar I was almost positive. If you watch the video he has that singing lead sound then, while he's away fromt he pedal board, he changes the switch from the bridge to the neck and the gain drops and the tone sounds like a strat. Your probably right.
